The National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions (NCAHP), Government of India, has extended the admission deadline for eligible Allied and Healthcare Diploma, Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) courses for the 2026–27 academic session.

The previous deadline was October 31, 2026. The new and final cut-off date is November 15, 2026.

If you are considering an allied health course through the Study in India pathway, this extension gives you a short additional window to verify your eligibility, check the institution’s approval and complete your application. However, it does not relax admission requirements or create additional seats.

Notice dateNovember 2, 2026

The public notice was issued by Umesh Balonda, Secretary of NCAHP, under file number Z/103/2024-AHS-DOHFW DEPARTMENT.

You should check the NCAHP public notices page for official information rather than relying only on college advertisements or social-media posts.

Important conditions attached to the extension

The deadline extension is subject to several conditions that students and parents should understand before paying any admission fee.

1. Existing eligibility requirements still apply

Institutions must continue following the prescribed eligibility criteria, admission procedures and regulatory requirements for each Allied and Healthcare course.

The extended deadline does not lower academic requirements. You must still satisfy the criteria set by the relevant institution, university and regulatory authority.

2. Admissions cannot exceed the approved intake

Institutions may admit students only within the annual intake approved for each course. The extension does not allow a college to add unapproved seats.

A college may therefore be covered by the notice but still be unable to admit you if all approved seats have already been filled.

3. November admissions will form a casual or odd batch

The notice divides students into two groups:

  • Students admitted up to October 31, 2026, will be treated as the regular or even batch.
  • Students admitted between November 1 and November 15, 2026, will form part of the casual or odd batch.

Institutions must still ensure that students complete the required curriculum, attendance, practical work, clinical postings and examinations.

Before enrolling, ask the college when classes will begin and how it will manage any missed lessons, laboratory sessions or clinical training.

4. Only previously approved institutions are covered

The extension applies only to institutions or colleges that received approval or permission on or before October 31, 2026. No new institution or college can receive approval after that date for the covered courses.

You can check whether an Indian university appears in the UGC university directory. However, a university’s UGC status does not confirm that a particular college and course have current NCAHP approval. Request evidence of course approval, university affiliation and approved intake separately.

5. November 15 is the final cut-off

NCAHP has stated that admissions will not be permitted after November 15, 2026, and further requests for an extension will not be considered.

Do not wait until the final day. Eligibility checks, document corrections, application review and payment confirmation may require additional time.

Does the notice apply to every healthcare course?

No. The notice is specifically worded for Allied and Healthcare courses governed by NCAHP.

You should not assume that it automatically changes the deadline for nursing, medical, dental or other separately regulated programs. The scope of NCAHP is explained in the National Commission for Allied and Healthcare Professions Act, 2021.

If you are considering nursing, read our separate BSc Nursing in India guide and confirm the current admission schedule with the relevant university and nursing authority.

What should you verify before applying?

Before paying a deposit, ask the institution for written confirmation of:

  1. Its approval or permission for the 2026–27 academic session.
  2. The exact approved course name, duration and intake.
  3. The university awarding the qualification.
  4. The number of seats still available.
  5. The class, practical and clinical schedule for the odd batch.
  6. The complete fee structure, including hostel, examination and clinical charges.
  7. Its cancellation and refund terms.
  8. The documents required from applicants from Nepal.

If you plan to return to Nepal after graduation, check the current degree-equivalency and professional-registration requirements before enrolling. Our update on foreign-degree equivalency in Nepal provides additional context, but final decisions remain with the relevant Nepali authorities.

Documents you may need

Requirements vary by course and institution, but commonly requested documents include:

  • SEE or Class 10 marksheet and certificate
  • +2 or Class 12 transcript and certificate
  • Previous diploma or degree documents for PG applications
  • Citizenship certificate or passport
  • Character or conduct certificate
  • Migration certificate, where required
  • Recent passport-size photographs
  • Medical-fitness certificate
  • Entrance examination result, if applicable
  • Eligibility, equivalency or No Objection Certificate documents, where required

Make sure your name, date of birth and other personal information match across all documents. Even a small spelling difference can delay verification.

Our admission guidance service can help you review your eligibility, institution and documents before submission.

What should you do next?

If you want to use this extended window, act in this order:
