What MBBS Costs in Nepal for 2083
A college inside Kathmandu Valley charges NPR 41,68,090 in tuition for the full MBBS program. Colleges outside the valley charge NPR 45,95,720. That makes MBBS the most expensive bachelor’s program in the MEC schedule by a wide margin, at roughly twice the BDS fee and four times the B.Sc. Nursing fee.
BDS Fees: NPR 20,92,290
BDS has a single rate, with no valley and outside-valley split. At NPR 20,92,290, it’s the second most expensive bachelor’s program on the list.
Students who score close to the MBBS cut-off in the Common Entrance Examination often weigh BDS as the alternative. B.Sc. Nursing and Other Nursing Fees
B.Sc. Nursing in Nepal is fixed at NPR 10,36,000. For registered nurses upgrading through the Bachelor of Nursing Science or Post Basic Nursing route (BNS/PBN), the fee is NPR 5,18,000, exactly half the B.Sc. Nursing rate.
Nursing sits in its own fee band. It costs more than allied health programs but well under half of BDS. Graduates still need to pass the Nepal Nursing Council licensing exam before they can practice, so budget time for NNC license exam preparation too.
Allied Health, Pharmacy, and Public Health Fees
Ten bachelor’s programs share one flat rate of NPR 7,77,000:

Where These 2083 Fees Come From
MEC’s fee notice combines three decisions. The Commission first set tuition for bachelor’s level and above in decisions dated 2077/10/29 and 2078/02/28. A later decision on 2079/08/15 fixed and adjusted those fees. The 2081/03/13 notice consolidates all three into the single schedule shown above.

Costs the MEC Fee Doesn’t Include
The MEC notice lists tuition fees (शिक्षण शुल्क) only. It says nothing about hostel, food, uniforms, books, university registration, or exam fees, and those costs vary by college.
Ask every college for a written breakdown of non-tuition charges before you pay an admission deposit. Compare the totals, not just the tuition line.

Start with the Common Entrance Examination. MEC conducts the CEE, and Nepali students need to sit it to be eligible for bachelor’s-level medical and health science programs in Nepal. Your rank determines which programs and colleges are realistically open to you, which in turn determines the fee band you’re planning for. Check the CEE exam date schedule, the MEC academic calendar 2083/84, and the MECEE-BL category-wise seat distribution, then plan your CEE preparation around them.
Next, build the full-course number. Add the MEC tuition, your college’s written non-tuition charges, and living costs for the length of the program. Then compare that total against the same total for your second-choice program.
