The Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) has published its proposed annual calendar for the Nursing Licensing Examination for 2083 B.S. The next NNC nursing license exam is on Mangsir 25–28, 2083 (December 11–14, 2026). After that, the last exam of the year is on Chaitra 25–29, 2083 (April 8–12, 2027). The Shrawan exam was held on Shrawan 25–27, 2083, and its results are already out.
The Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) published this calendar on Baisakh 9, 2083. It covers PCL Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, Bachelor of Midwifery Science (BMS), and Specialist Nursing (MN/M.Sc.). The exams are computer-based, and your exact date and time will be on your admit card. NNC will announce the Mangsir application dates in a separate notice.

NNC Nursing License Exam Dates 2083
According to the annual calendar, the examinations are proposed for the following periods:

These dates are proposed, and NNC can change them. NNC will announce the exact exam dates for each program, including midwifery, in a separate notice, and your own date and time will be on your admit card. Don’t plan around every day in the window: in Shrawan, NNC set aside four days (25–28) but held the exam over three (25–27).
Which Nursing Programs Does the Calendar Cover?
The annual calendar applies to candidates from the following programs:
- Proficiency Certificate Level Nursing (PCL Nursing)
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (B.Sc. Nursing)
- Bachelor of Midwifery Science (BMS)
- Specialist Nursing, including Master’s in Nursing qualifications
Who Can Sit the Exam?
You need to have completed one of the programs above, and your academic documents need to be issued by the deadline in the application notice. For recent exams, NNC required candidates to have their documents ready and uploaded by the application deadline. If you complete them after that date, you can’t apply for that period.
If you studied nursing outside Nepal, recent NNC notices have also asked for an eligibility letter from the Medical Education Commission (MEC). Get it before the application window opens, because it takes time.
How the Exam Works
According to NNC’s calendar notice, the PCL Nursing, B.Sc. Nursing, Specialist Nursing, and BMS licensing exams are computer-based. Your admit card shows your assigned date and time. If you’re a BMS candidate, it also has details of your practical exam.

Every question is multiple choice with four options, and you get 2 hours 30 minutes to finish. Specialist Nursing has the highest pass mark, at 60%. If that’s your exam, aim to score 70% or more on your mock tests before exam day.
NNC can change these details in any exam notice. Check the notice for your exam period before you rely on it.
How to Apply for the Mangsir 2083 Exam
The calendar does not open applications. NNC publishes a separate notice for each exam period, with the application window, fees, late-fee deadline, and document list.
Based on how recent exam periods have worked, here is what to expect:
- Watch for the notice. It appears on the NNC website’s notices page.
- Apply online only, through NNC’s application portal (application.nnc.org.np). NNC doesn’t accept applications through any other channel.
- Pay the fee online. In recent notices, the fee depended on your program, and applying in the late window cost about double. Applying on time saves money.
- Upload your documents before the deadline. Documents issued after the deadline don’t count.
- Download your admit card when NNC releases it, and check your date, time, and exam center straight away.
On exam day, bring your admit card and an original photo ID. Recent notices have accepted a national ID, citizenship certificate, passport, or driving license.

Application fee: The normal application fee for the PCL Nursing and B.Sc. Nursing license examination under the Nepal Nursing Council is NPR 3,500.

After the Exam: Results and Registration
Results are published on NNC’s notice board, and you can also see yours by logging into the application portal. Once you pass, you apply for your registration certificate. For the Shrawan 2083 exam, NNC asked candidates who passed to pay online and then visit the council office. Before you visit the council office, prepare the following items from our certificate-collection checklist:
- All original educational documents from SEE through PCL Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing, especially your SEE marksheet and character certificate, and your nursing transcript and character certificate
- Pay Rs 2000 through your NNC ID by logging to your account
- Original citizenship certificate
- Original admit card
- Two passport-size photographs matching the photograph uploaded with your application
Go to collect your certificate on the date and at the time assigned to you by NNC. Check the latest notice for your exam period so you do not miss your collection schedule or arrive without a required document.
If you don’t pass, you can sit the next exam period. With three periods in the year, the next one is only a few months away. That’s enough time to fix your weak areas, as long as you start right away.
How to Plan Your Preparation Around the NNC Calendar
Pick your exam period and work backward from it. For Mangsir, you have about 12 weeks from today.
- Weeks 1–2: Go through the current NNC syllabus. Mark which subjects you’re confident in and which you’ve forgotten since you graduated.
- Weeks 3–8: Work through one major subject block each week, then practice multiple-choice questions on each chapter as you finish it.
- Weeks 9–11: Take full, timed mock tests on a computer. If you’ve only ever done tests on paper, reading questions on a screen and managing your time will feel different. Our NNC PCL nursing full mock test is a good place to start.
- Week 12: Only revise the topics you keep getting wrong. Check your admit card details, and get your ID and documents ready.
The part most candidates underestimate is going over their wrong answers. Doing 100 more questions helps less than understanding why you got 20 wrong.
