About Bethel Medical Institute of Nursing Sciences
Bethel Medical Institute of Nursing Sciences is part of a group that now calls itself Bethel Medical Indo Nepal Academy. According to its own website, the group was earlier known as HOSMAT Hospital Educational Institutions, and it dates its health education work to 1997. It’s run by Bethel Medical Mission Hospital and Bethel Medical & Educational Services.
Don’t confuse it with HOSMAT Hospital and HOSMAT College of Nursing on Magrath Road in central Bangalore. That’s a different campus with its own website. Bethel’s campus is three acres on Bethel Road in Laggere, near the Laggere ring road in north-west Bangalore.
Everything here is on one site: the nursing institute, the allied health courses, the hostel and the group’s own hospital, Bethel Medical Mission Hospital. For a family sending a son or daughter abroad for the first time, a campus where study, living and training all happen in one place is a real reassurance.
The courses range from the GNM diploma to MSc Nursing, plus allied health degrees in imaging, operation theatre and anaesthesia technology, optometry, cardiac care, perfusion technology and physiotherapy. It suits you if you want a self-contained campus and are comfortable with a compulsory hostel.
Is Bethel Medical Institute of Nursing Sciences recognized in Nepal?
Your qualification needs to be recognized in India and then in Nepal. For nursing, Nepal’s side has one step you must take before you leave home.
In India. The group lists Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, the Indian Nursing Council, the Karnataka State Nursing Council, and the Karnataka State Diploma in Nursing Examination Board among its affiliations and approvals. Because the group runs several institutions under different names, check that your specific course and institution appear on the Indian Nursing Council’s list of recognized nursing institutions before you pay any fee. We do this check with you.
Nursing in Nepal. You can’t practice as a nurse on a foreign qualification alone. You must register with the Nepal Nursing Council (NNC) and pass its licensing examination. The NNC asks anyone who studied outside Nepal on or after 01/10/2020 to submit an eligibility letter from Nepal’s Medical Education Commission (MEC) with their licensing exam application, along with equivalence and evidence of the institution’s recognition. Arrange the MEC letter before you pay fees or travel.
Allied health in Nepal. Allied health professionals register with the Nepal Health Professional Council, which runs its own licensing exam. Not every Indian allied health title matches a Nepal registration category, so check your chosen course with us before you apply.
In India, after graduating. Indian Nursing Council guidance says foreign nationals, including Nepali citizens, who study nursing in India are not registered with an Indian State Nursing Registration Council for employment.
Beyond Nepal. An INC-recognised BSc Nursing is the usual starting point for the UK, Gulf and US routes. Each has its own registration exam and English test.
Why choose Bethel Medical Institute of Nursing Sciences — and who it suits
Reasons you can check yourself:
- The group’s own hospital. You train at Bethel Medical Mission Hospital, which has an ambulance service and a blood bank.
- Daily hospital time in your senior years. Third- and final-year students do six-hour hospital postings every day.
- Hostel inside the campus. You live where you study, which many parents prefer for a first time away from home.
- Nursing and allied health together. If you’re unsure between nursing, imaging, operation theatre technology or physiotherapy, you can compare them at one institution.
- College buses take you to and from hospital postings.
It may not suit you if:
- You want to live off campus. The hostel is compulsory for all students.
- You want a large, central campus. The campus is three acres in Laggere, away from central Bangalore.
- You’re nervous about patients speaking other languages. Teaching is in English, but many patients speak Kannada, Tamil, Telugu or Hindi. You’ll need working phrases in your first clinical year.
- You need a fee figure today. Bethel doesn’t publish fees, so we get the written schedule for you.

Bethel Medical Institute of Nursing Sciences fees for Nepali students — the full cost
Bethel doesn’t publish its fees, and the third-party figures we found don’t say whether they’re per year or for the whole course, so they’re no use for budgeting. We get the college’s written fee schedule for you before you pay anything. It will cover:
- tuition for each year, and any fee set for foreign applicants
- the compulsory hostel and food
- one-time admission, uniform, books, and RGUHS or board exam and registration fees
- the full-programme total, converted to NPR at the fixed Nepal Rastra Bank rate of INR 1 = NPR 1.60
What is not included, even once fees are confirmed:
- Travel home, especially at Dashain and Tihar, when fares are highest
- Personal spending: phone, local transport, toiletries and clothes
- Medical insurance, unless the college includes it
- Nepal-side paperwork, such as the MEC letter, attestation and translations
For parents: build a full-program budget before you leave. Nursing means classes, labs and long hospital postings, so your son or daughter shouldn’t rely on part-time work to pay for tuition or living costs. Bethel also charges a fine for each day of unauthorized absence, so attendance matters.
Scholarships: Bethel doesn’t publish any scholarships.
Refunds depend on the case and the stage of admission. Ask our counselors before you pay anything.
Clinical training, internship and where this degree takes you
For a nursing student, the hospital you train in matters more than the buildings. Your training is based at Bethel Medical Mission Hospital, the group’s own hospital, which has an ambulance service and a blood bank. In your third and final years, you spend six hours a day on hospital postings, and the college’s own buses take you between campus and the hospital. GNM includes an internship period at the end of the course.
Where the qualification takes you. Bethel doesn’t publish verified placement data, so we don’t quote a placement rate. These are the routes:
- Nepal: nurses register with the Nepal Nursing Council, and allied health graduates with the Nepal Health Professional Council, after passing that council’s licensing exam.
- India: INC guidance says foreign nationals aren’t registered with Indian State Nursing Councils for employment.
- Abroad: for nursing, the UK, Gulf and US routes start from an INC-recognised degree, plus that country’s own exam and English test.
Hostel, safety and campus facilities
Your parents will want to know where you sleep and who looks after you. At Bethel, the hostel is inside the college premises and compulsory for all students, so you’re on campus every night. The college lists:
- Wholesome, balanced meals in a dining hall that seats 100
- Water available round the clock
- Hostel inside the campus, next to classes
Before you pay, we confirm the separate boys’ and girls’ arrangements, room sharing, warden and gate timings.
Campus facilities
- Library with around 5,000 books
- Computer lab
- College buses for hospital postings
- Indoor and outdoor sports
- Auditorium

Getting to Bangalore from Nepal — and life once you are there
Flying is the practical route. Bangalore is about 1,800 km from Kathmandu by air. Nepal Airlines flies non-stop to Kempegowda International Airport in about 3 hours 25 minutes, and Air India Express lists a non-stop service from 25/10/2026. Other routes connect through Delhi or Kolkata. Check schedules before you book. Laggere is in north-west Bangalore, and the airport is north of the city.
Documents to travel. Nepali citizens don’t need a visa to study in India. Travel on your passport. The Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi lists either the passport or the citizenship certificate as valid for air travel to India, but at least one airline accepts only a passport or voter ID from adults.
Daily life. Bangalore is mild all year. Kannada is the local language, and English and Hindi are widely used. Get an Indian SIM card in your first week.
