DHA Exam Preparation for Pharmacy

DHA Pharmacy Exam Preparation is for pharmacy professionals who want to work in Dubai, UAE under the Dubai Health Authority (DHA). After passing the DHA assessment and completing the required process, the candidate can receive DHA registration, and a Dubai healthcare facility must activate the registration into a license before the candidate can start working. DHA registration is valid for one year.

Who can apply?

For the Pharmacist title, DHA lists BSc in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy with two years of post-qualification experience in a related field. For Pharmacy Technician, DHA lists a Diploma in Pharmacy program of minimum two years’ duration with two years of post-qualification experience. DHA also clearly mentions that experience in pharmaceutical companies or as a sales representative is not accepted for this category.

For Clinical Pharmacist or Specialized Pharmacist, the requirement is higher. Clinical Pharmacist may require BSc Pharmacy with clinical pharmacy residency, PharmD/Doctor of Pharmacy, postgraduate clinical pharmacy qualification, or similar approved qualifications. Specialized Pharmacist may require BSc Pharmacy/PharmD/Doctor of Pharmacy plus postgraduate specialty qualification or American Board specialty qualification depending on the title.

DHA licensing process

The process usually starts with the DHA Sheryan account and Self-Assessment Tool. After that, the applicant submits documents for Primary Source Verification/DataFlow, completes the required CBT exam through Prometric, and then DHA reviews the registration eligibility. DHA states that DataFlow verification and CBT assessment can be done in parallel.

Exam pattern

The DHA Pharmacy exam is a computer-based MCQ exam. The official DHA CBT guideline mentions that the exam result is shown as Pass or Fail, and the exact score is not shared with the applicant.

Required documents

Required documents usually include a recent passport-size photograph, valid passport copy, Good Standing Certificate if applicable, and verification results for qualification, experience, and professional registration as per PQR requirements. DHA also mentions CBT assessment result if required.

Important rule

DHA mentions that a professional must pass the related assessment within three attempts across the Authorities, must not be blacklisted, and must receive the PSV result for submitted documents.
