Get your doubts cleared with dedicated support sessionsBSc MLT CEE Preparation is for students who want to study Bachelor of Science in Medical Laboratory Technology in Nepal. BSc MLT is a professional health science course that prepares students to work in medical laboratories, hospitals, diagnostic centers, research labs, blood banks, and public health laboratories. In Nepal, admission to BSc MLT is done through the Medical Education Common Entrance Examination for Bachelor Level, commonly called CEE or MECEE-BL, conducted by the Medical Education Commission (MEC).
For BSc MLT, students generally need to pass +2 Science or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, securing the required GPA/percentage as per MEC rules. Students from PCL/Diploma in Medical Lab Technology or related health science programs may also be eligible if they meet the required marks and council registration criteria. Eligibility details can change by intake, so students should always check the latest MEC notice before filling the form.
The BSc MLT CEE exam is an MCQ-based entrance exam. The exam generally has 200 single-best-response MCQs, full marks 200, and the duration is 3 hours. Each correct answer carries 1 mark, and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Students usually need to score at least the 50th percentile to be included in the merit list.

Main Subject Areas
BSc MLT entrance preparation mainly focuses on Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and MLT-specific subject knowledge. Students should prepare both +2 Science level content and basic laboratory-related topics. Biology helps in understanding human body systems, diseases, microorganisms, genetics, and physiology. Chemistry is important for clinical biochemistry, reactions, solutions, and laboratory calculations. Physics helps in understanding instruments, optics, electricity, and basic measurement principles. MLT-specific topics help students build a foundation for laboratory diagnosis and practical lab work.
Important Topics to Prepare
In Biology, students should focus on human anatomy and physiology, cell biology, genetics, blood and circulation, immunity, human diseases, microorganisms, reproductive system, environment, and basic histology. Zoology and Botany both are important, but for BSc MLT, human biology and disease-related topics are especially useful.
In Chemistry, students should prepare physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, acids and bases, chemical bonding, solutions, equilibrium, biomolecules, enzymes, carbohydrates, proteins, lipids, and basic analytical chemistry. These topics are important because MLT students later study clinical biochemistry and laboratory analysis.
In Physics, students should focus on measurement, units, mechanics, heat, waves, optics, electricity, magnetism, electronics, radiation, and instrument-related concepts. Topics like microscopy, centrifugation principles, light, lenses, and basic electricity can be useful for laboratory technology.
In MLT-specific content, students should prepare basic hematology, clinical biochemistry, microbiology, parasitology, immunology, serology, blood banking, urinalysis, histopathology, cytology basics, laboratory safety, quality control, specimen collection, sterilization, disinfection, biomedical waste management, and professional ethics.
How to Prepare Effectively
A good BSc MLT CEE preparation plan should include complete syllabus coverage, topic-wise classes, daily MCQ practice, weekly mock tests, model question sets, previous-pattern questions, and doubt-clearing sessions. Since the exam has 200 questions in 3 hours, students must build both speed and accuracy. Biology and MLT-related topics should be revised repeatedly because they are scoring areas. Chemistry should be practiced with reactions, formulas, and calculations, while Physics needs regular formula revision and numerical practice.
Students should not depend only on theory reading. They should practice MCQs every day, take time-bound tests, analyze mistakes, and maintain a weak-topic notebook. Because there is negative marking, students should avoid random guessing and focus on accuracy. During the exam, it is better to solve easy and confident questions first, then return to difficult questions later.
