Get your doubts cleared with dedicated support sessionsBPT CEE Preparation is for students who want to study Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) in Nepal. BPT is a professional health science course that prepares students to work in rehabilitation centers, hospitals, sports clinics, orthopedic departments, neurological rehab units, community health programs, and private physiotherapy clinics. In Nepal, admission to BPT is done through the Medical Education Common Entrance Examination for Bachelor Level, also called MECEE-BL/CEE, conducted by the Medical Education Commission (MEC). MECEE-BL includes different health science programs such as MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, BSc MLT, BSc MIT, BPharm, BOptometry, BPT, BPH and other programs.
For BPT, students generally need to pass +2 Science or equivalent with science subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology, meeting the required GPA or percentage according to the latest MEC notice. Since eligibility rules may be updated for each intake, students should always check the official MEC notice before filling out the form. The CEE exam is competitive, so students need proper preparation in science subjects, health-related concepts, and MCQ-solving skills.
Exam Pattern
The BPT CEE exam is usually an objective MCQ-based exam. According to the MEC bachelor-level common entrance syllabus format, the exam has 200 single-best-response MCQs, full marks of 200, and the duration is 3 hours. Each question has four options, and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Students need to secure at least the 50th percentile to be included in the merit list.

Main Subject Areas
BPT CEE preparation mainly includes Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and Mental Agility Test (MAT). In the revised MEC syllabus structure for bachelor-level programs, the common PCB group includes major weightage from Zoology, Botany, Chemistry, Physics, and MAT. The syllabus document lists Zoology 40 questions and MAT 20 questions, with the total exam carrying 200 questions.
For BPT students, Biology is very important because physiotherapy is strongly connected with the human body, movement, muscles, bones, nerves, joints, rehabilitation, and physical function. Physics is also important because physiotherapy uses concepts like force, movement, electricity, heat, light, ultrasound, and exercise mechanics. Chemistry helps students understand body chemistry, biomolecules, metabolism, medicines, and basic health science concepts.
Important Topics to Prepare
In Biology, students should focus on human anatomy and physiology, skeletal system, muscular system, nervous system, respiratory system, cardiovascular system, cell biology, genetics, immunity, human diseases, reproduction, and basic histology. For BPT, special attention should be given to the muscles, bones, joints, nerves, movement, posture, and body systems because these are directly related to physiotherapy.
In Physics, important topics include mechanics, force, motion, work, energy, pressure, heat, waves, sound, optics, electricity, magnetism, modern physics, and basic instruments. Physics is useful for understanding body movement, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, ultrasound therapy, heat therapy, and rehabilitation equipment.
In Chemistry, students should prepare physical chemistry, organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, biomolecules, enzymes, proteins, carbohydrates, lipids, acids and bases, solutions, chemical bonding, equilibrium, and basic biochemical concepts. These topics help build a foundation for future subjects like biochemistry, pharmacology, and exercise physiology.
In MAT, students should practice verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, logical sequencing, and abstract/spatial reasoning. The MEC syllabus lists MAT areas as verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, logical sequencing, and spatial relation/abstract reasoning.
BPT-Focused Health Science Concepts
Although the entrance exam is mainly based on CEE syllabus, BPT aspirants should also understand basic physiotherapy-related concepts such as posture, body movement, rehabilitation, disability prevention, exercise therapy, sports injury, orthopedic conditions, neurological conditions, pain management, and patient care. These topics help students develop interest and confidence in the BPT field.
How to Prepare Effectively
A strong BPT CEE preparation plan should include complete syllabus coverage, topic-wise classes, daily MCQ practice, weekly mock tests, model question sets, previous-pattern questions, and doubt-clearing sessions. Students should make a proper study routine for Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and MAT. Biology should be revised frequently because it is scoring and directly related to BPT. Physics should be practiced with formulas and numerical problems, while Chemistry should be prepared through reactions, concepts, and repeated MCQ practice.
Students should also practice full-length mock tests to improve speed and time management. Since the exam has 200 questions in 3 hours, students must learn how to solve questions quickly and accurately. Because there is negative marking, random guessing should be avoided. After every mock test, students should review mistakes, list weak topics, and revise them again.
